This unique and very special collection of photographs were taken by David Magnus at the famous EMI Studio1, Abbey Road, St Johns Wood, London. over the weekend of 24th and 25th June 1967. The prints are still available from Proud Galleries.
It was at Abbey Road Studios The Beatles recorded the UK segment for a programme called "Our World". This programme was the first worldwide live television satellite linkup. "Our World". was a collaboration of 19 countries, each country providing its own special segment for the programme. The UK contribution was a live recording of The Beatles song "All You Need Is Love"."Our World" was transmitted to 24 countries with a total audience of over 400 million viewers.
To give the recording studio a party atmosphere The Beatles had the studio decorated with garlands, streamers and balloons, they also invited some of their friends along including. Also photographed were Mick Jagger, Marianne Faithfull, Jane Asher, Keith Moon, Patti Boyd and Brian Epstein. Sadly the photographs taken that day of Brian Epstein were last ever photographs of Brian together with The Beatles as Brian died some weeks later.
